The Frontrunner

Aidan

Trendy and Rocky Riverish while at the same time traditional and Irish, most experts have annointed Aidan as the early frontrunner for Pat's baby. Of course, only very rarely does a frontrunner remain in the lead all nine months. Aidan's best chance may be to fade in early February and resurface in late July.

However it plays out, if one were forced to put some money on it, Aidan would have to be the early choice.

The problem may be that the name is too Rocky Riverish. Word on the street is that Pat and his main squeeze T-Bone are looking to head to greener pastures, possibly Westlake. Obviously, while Aidan is a perfectly acceptable and even desirable River name, it doesn't work at all in the more homogenous, middle America, Westlake. Something more along the lines of Samuel or Benjamin is probably in order shoulld the re-location rumors become reality.

Too bad there wasn't a blog for Pat's friend John Chambers who recently fell victim to "Aidanitus". Living out in Sheffield Lake, Aidan just doesn't fit young Chambers. Something like Buddy or Duke would have been much more appropriate. I guess he felt that since he used to live in River and drives a Land Rover he could still pull it off.

Down with Aidan!
Up with Tyrone! Give it back to the Irish!

Hi - lovely baby! I'm a maternal-child nurse working on a postpartum floor and I can tell you that the name Aidan is WAY overused right now - extremely popular. There will be tons of other Aidans on the soccer field with this baby.
